Kassassin Street are a 5-piece alternative band from Portsmouth, England. With intense live shows and a strong DIY approach, their music draws on a variety of psychedelic, electronic and rock influences.
Formed in 2010, the band recorded their debut EP in 2011 in a rehearsal room and a bedroom, calling in many microphone-based favours from friends. With thanks to you lovely people, still in your debt.
True to early influences such as The Verve and Can, many of the tracks on EP started as open-ended jams before being molded into the finished versions. Since release the band has gained attention from national and local radio stations including BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio.
EP was mixed and mastered by Korean producer, and all-round good egg, POSTINO, and is available in all the usual digital places.
Since the release of their debut, Kassassin Street have headlined numerous events in the south of England, as well as playing support slots for bands including The Big Pink, 2:54 and Art Brut.
In 2012 the band will be recording new material in an old barn in the middle of nowhere and will be keeping eyes on the summer festivals...
